The starting point

For years, I have wanted to write. The works of various authors or even articles written by journalists have fascinated me. This form of communication is so magical to me. But for some strange reason, I have not been able to bring myself to write. I mean, write for the sake of writing, for the sake of being able to express one's thoughts. I felt underconfident about it, I guess...

Then one day, I discovered the blog of a colleague. That changed the way I looked at writing. Here is a person who has the capability of transforming an everyday experience into something new and magical for the others to experience. Simply because she writes about these everyday experiences by looking at them differently and by writing about them in a simple, "talk-to-the-audience" narrative style.

While I may not manage to write in the same manner as she does, I must say that her blog has inspired me to start my own blog. And so, here you are..., reading what I am writing.

Now that my preamble is done, let me tell you why I want to write about wines and India. So much is already being written about it in the written press and in the virtual world, that I have been wondering if I am going to have anything new to say. But then, hey, I thought, I can always have my own opinion and put that down in my blog.

Why Wines?

Well, simple.. I love them. I love them to the extent that I decided to undergo a training in order to be able to be a professional in the domain. 2 years of being amidst wine makers, wineries, and vineyards has made me a total oenophile.

Why India?

Well, am an Indian, love the country, hate it too. More so, because of the high taxes imposed on wines imported into this country!! I chose to return to India because I believe that wines are going to make India their home all over again. My training in the domain will only help the process...

I am in the midst of working on a project to create a retail wine boutique... an exclusive one, which will have only wines and wine related accessories. I hope the project will take shape and be alive by the month of October. The reason I decided to start blogging at this point was to be able to put down my thoughts during the course of creating this project and seeing it take off as a successful business.

I hope my readers will post their comments, who knows what will spark a bright idea in my head! :-)

Well, keep reading...
